DuPont™ Vertrel® XP10 Drying Fluid for Small Quantities of Water

It is extremely difficult to get water out of tight spaces, such as inside this pipette. Vertrel XP10 would be an excellent choice to absorb the water and remove it, leaving the interior spaces clean, dry and residue-free

Vertrel® XP10 is a special solvent intended for the removal of water from non-porous surfaces using “absorption drying.” This technology is optimal where nested parts or complex geometries make water removal difficult or energy intensive.

The low viscosity, high density and low surface tension of Vertrel® XP10 results in the superior wetting of the parts being dried. The fluid removes trace levels of moisture, with the added advantage of enhancing the cleaning. Vertrel® XP10 also is well suited for removing fine particulate matter (submicron range) from metal and nonmetal parts. Typical precision cleaning/drying applications include removal of water, particulate, light soils and fingerprints from disk media, head stack assemblies and lenses for optical devices.

Drying with Vertrel® XP10 eliminates spotting and the deposition of ionics associated with aqueous cleaning, reduces energy consumption and minimizes equipment footprint.
